- אֹודֶםm. (אדם) red substance, fleshy substance (cmp. אֲדָמָה, אָדָם; b. h. אֹדֶם rubin). Y.Kil.VIII, 31c bot. הא׳ מן האשה from the mother the embryo receives the substance for forming skin, flesh, and blood; opp. לֹובֶן white, sticky substance. Nid. 32b למעוטי איש מא׳ to exempt man from being unclean from a red (blood) discharge, opp. to לובן white gonorrhoeic discharge.
